FedSift › Features › Claude & ChatGPT connector
Ask Claude or ChatGPT about federal contracts, with your FedSift data
FedSift runs a read-only connector that plugs your account into Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client, so your assistant answers from live SAM.gov and USASpending data and your own company profile.
Set it up in two minutes
The connector is a remote MCP server. The URL is the same for every client:
https://api.fedsift.app/api/mcp
Claude
- Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
- Paste the URL and sign in to FedSift to approve access.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- Add a custom connector with the same URL, transport Streamable HTTP, authentication OAuth.
- Approve access when FedSift asks.
The step-by-step guide with screenshots is in the app: Connect FedSift to your assistant.
Things to ask it
- “Which Army contracts in NAICS 541330 end in the next year, and who holds them?”
- “Rank my matches from this week and tell me which ones I am not eligible to bid.”
- “What does the compliance matrix for this solicitation say about key personnel?”
- “Quote the rule on limitations on subcontracting for a services set-aside.”
Answers come from FedSift's live government data and your own company profile, so the assistant is not recalling contract facts from its training data.

Questions
Does it work with ChatGPT as well as Claude?
Yes. In ChatGPT it needs Developer mode, which is available on paid plans on the web. ChatGPT's standard connectors only accept servers that expose generic search and fetch tools, and FedSift exposes fourteen federal-specific tools instead.
Can the assistant change anything in my account?
No. Every tool is read-only. It cannot change your pipeline, generate new billable analysis, or read documents you uploaded privately. You can disconnect it at any time from Settings, then Integrations.
Who pays for the conversation?
Your assistant's usage is billed to your own Claude or ChatGPT plan. The connector is part of FedSift Pro, and every account is on Pro at no cost until 31 March 2027.
Connect your account
Create an account, then add the connector in Claude or ChatGPT.
Starter is free forever, no card. Pro is $19 a month or $199 a year, and every account is on Pro at no cost until 31 March 2027. Would rather be walked through it? Ask for a demo and we'll reach out within one business day.
