FedSift › Compare
How FedSift compares
Three side-by-side comparisons, each limited to what the other vendor publishes itself.
What each one is for
These tools overlap less than their marketing suggests. SAM.gov is the record. HigherGov and GovWin IQ are search and market-intelligence surfaces at very different prices. FedSift is the layer that reads a solicitation package and tells you whether to bid it — and shows you the sentence and page that decided the answer.
Each page below states what the other product does in its own published terms, with sources and the date they were checked.
The comparisons
| What it is | Where FedSift differs | |
|---|---|---|
| SAM.gov | The official record. Free, authoritative, and not built to tell you which notices are worth reading. | Read the same notices, score them against your profile, and cite the requirement to its PDF page. |
| HigherGov | Opportunity and award search with a free tier, priced from $500 a year for more data and seats. | Bid/no-bid gates and page-cited requirements rather than a wider search surface. |
| GovWin IQ | Pre-RFP market intelligence and analyst coverage, sold as an enterprise subscription. | The same 6-18 month recompete window, derived from published award data you can open and check. |
Where FedSift is the wrong choice
If you need the official package to respond, go to SAM.gov. If you need state and local coverage, or analyst-written pre-RFP intelligence with a named human behind it, FedSift does not do either — it reads federal notices and public award data, and it says so on every page.
Questions
Is FedSift a replacement for SAM.gov?
No. SAM.gov is the official source of record and the place you confirm dates and respond. FedSift republishes its notices, links every page back to SAM.gov, and does the reading and scoring SAM.gov is not built for.
Which of these is free?
SAM.gov is free. HigherGov publishes a free tier. FedSift's Starter plan is free forever with no card, and you can browse every open solicitation without an account at all.
How do you keep these comparisons honest?
Every claim about another product is limited to what that vendor publishes on its own site, each page lists its sources with the date they were checked, and none of them quote a competitor's internal numbers. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
Check it against a notice you already know
Open a solicitation you have read and see whether the requirements, gates and citations match what you found by hand.
Starter is free forever, no card. Pro is $19 a month or $199 a year, and every account is on Pro at no cost until 31 March 2027. Would rather be walked through it? Ask for a demo and we'll reach out within one business day.
