What FedSift does
The questions a federal pursuit raises, and what FedSift reads to answer each one.
The questions a pursuit raises, and who is asking them
Federal BD is a sequence, not a search box. What is coming that I could win? Can I bid this one, and what does it demand? And then — repeatedly, at odd hours — what do I already know about this agency, this incumbent, this vehicle?
Each page below covers one of those — or one kind of reader — including what it does not do.
The features
| The question it answers | What it reads | |
|---|---|---|
| Recompete tracker | Which expiring contract to chase, 6-18 months before the RFP | Public award data: who holds it, what it is worth, when it ends. |
| Compliance matrix | What this solicitation actually requires of you | Every requirement extracted from the package, with the verbatim sentence and PDF page. |
| Claude & ChatGPT connector | Ask your federal pipeline a question in the assistant you already use | A read-only MCP connector: 14 tools, no writes, no generation. |
| For BD consultants | How do I run several clients' pipelines and find new clients? | Your clients' profiles and pipelines; SAM, USASpending and SBA records for new leads. |
| New to federal contracting | Where do I start, and what can I actually bid? | Open notices, set-aside rules, GSA labor rates and the FAR and SBA text. |
What runs under all of them
Every claim on a FedSift page is traceable to something you can open: a SAM.gov notice, a USASpending award record, a PDF page in the solicitation package, or a dated quote from the eCFR. Where the evidence is thin, the page says so and withholds the score rather than guessing — a confident wrong answer on a bid/no-bid decision costs more than no answer.
